Tomo leads Signal’s strategy, sales and business development efforts in Japan and East Asia. Based in Tokyo, he works closely with Yahoo! JAPAN, the digital market leader in Japan, bringing Signal’s real-time, cross-channel marketing technology to Japanese agencies and clients. Prior to Signal, Tomo served as Japan Country Manager at the NYSE- listed Chinese company, Renren, where he developed business partnerships and built and operated social network services and social gaming services in Japan. Previously, he led digital marketing businesses at Overture Japan and Yahoo! JAPAN, where he was responsible for enhancing paid listing and interest-matching ad products, and optimizing monetization for publishers. He began his career as a software engineer for digital consumer electronics products at Sony, designing innovative products such as PalmOS-based PDA “CLIE.” Tomo holds an M.B.A. from Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and a M.S.E. in Mechano-Informatics from University of Tokyo.
