Identity connects us, so Signal uses its ongoing Signalite Social Spotlight to feature our incredible employees for who they really are. The more you learn about them, the more you’ll begin to recognize what makes our favorite individuals unique. Can you identify?
Elaine Small (a.k.a. “Smalls”), Senior Finance Associate. Relationship status: Engaged to be married in October. ‘Caddyshack’ fan and mango mojito enthusiast.
Age: 30. Hometown: Onarga, IL (“A small farm town”). How others describe her: “I’ve heard I’m a breath of fresh air — an effervescent lady with a sharp tongue.”
Interests: Acting (more of a secondary job), hanging out with her dog Daisy, learning about her family history through the Ancestry.com app and watching “really bad” reality TV shows like ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and “amazing” reality TV shows like ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’.
Dislikes: Bad commuter train etiquette (including but not limited to talking on the phone and not giving up your seat for the elderly), doing laundry, short email responses and the use of ellipses when it’s inappropriate.
Who would best portray her in a movie: “I’m between Judy Greer (‘Arrested Development’) or Kathryn Hahn. They’re always playing the witty, sarcastic friend, so it’s fitting.”
What Elaine’s best known for at Signal: “I’m the culture club co-president, and love to whip up strong cocktails and new recipes for those events. (You can find the concoctions in Signal’s cocktail book).”
