Identity connects us, so Signal uses its ongoing Signalite Social Spotlight to feature our incredible employees for who they really are. The more you learn about them, the more you’ll begin to recognize what makes our favorite individuals unique. Can you identify?
Weslie Iza, Implementation Manager. Goes by “Wes.” Michigan State University alum (“I’m a Spartan”). Hometown: Chicago, specifically its Logan Square neighborhood (“My family has had a home there since 1965. They came straight from Cuba because my abuela wanted to be by the Great Lakes — and here we are! Follow your dreams”).
Age: 29, #leoszn. Considers herself high-energy yet chill, easygoing and open-minded. Has been called a jack of all trades (“If there is something that I don’t know how to do, I’d like to think I’m pretty resourceful to figure it out”). Listens to rap and drum ’n’ bass music (“Basically, anything you can dance to”).
Likes: Animated and kids films like ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ and ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ (“I feel like there is much more to it than meets the eye”), playing sports (mostly soccer), botany, wildlife, hiking, boxing, snowboarding, sailing, scuba diving and traveling (next destination: Poland).
Dislikes: Wet socks, bad drivers (“Especially bad city drivers”), apathy in general (“Specifically people who are indecisive and don’t care, but it comes in so many different forms”).
Morning person or night owl: “I’m kind of both. If I wake up early, it’s like ‘The day has started — let’s go!’ But I also like to sleep in. I’m also an active late-night person.”
Her favorite part about working at Signal: “When you look around the office, it’s buzzing with people working hard to provide support internally and externally. But at the same time, we all know how to enjoy ourselves, maintain a sense of humor and have a good time together.”
