Identity connects us, so Signal uses its ongoing Signalite Social Spotlight to feature our incredible employees for who they really are. The more you learn about them, the more you’ll begin to recognize what makes our favorite individuals unique. Can you identify?
Salman Malik (but goes by “Salpal”), Engineer. Hometown: Chicago-born and raised, went to school in Evanston. Infamous for playing psychedelic rock band Tame Impala in the common office space.
Age: “30 and flirty.” (He’s single, ladies!) Words used to describe himself: Hilarious, chill, lighthearted (“I don’t think anything too seriously”) and above all else, humble. 😉
Interests: Building things himself (like his own furniture), working on his motorcycle, jalapeño chips, swimming and reading (“I devour books”). Dislikes: Random interruptions, traffic cameras, feeling helpless and when people fail to “keep it real.”
If he could travel anywhere in the world: “I know it’s super-nerdy, but I would really love to go to New Zealand, where they have Hobbiton set up (like in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ movies), and see the town constructed there. I would love to build a house like that.”
Salpal’s favorite part about working at Signal: “Getting to see all my co-workers all of the time. I rarely work from home even though we’re allowed, because I prefer to come in and see the wonderful and brilliant people I work with everyday.”
