Identity connects us, so Signal uses its ongoing Signalite Social Spotlight to feature our incredible employees for who they really are. The more you learn about them, the more you’ll begin to recognize what makes our favorite individuals unique. Can you identify?
Nate Granatir, Product Strategy Director. Majored in Math at Carnegie Mellon University. Non-fiction fan. Tutors elementary school kids in his free time.
Age: 36. Hometown: Hyde Park, Chicago. Relationship status: Married. Considers himself easygoing, friendly and not serious. Prefers the indoors. Spent most of his teens watching reruns of the first few seasons of ‘The Simpsons’ over and over (“and over”).
Interests: Listening to indie-pop/electronic music, biking around Chicago, exploring new, cheap Mexican and Middle Eastern food options, podcasts (‘Men in Blazers’ and ‘StartUp,’ to name a few), watching soccer (“I’m obsessed with the World Cup. I’ve been working from home the past few days, but I’m really trying to focus on getting work done” 😉).
Dislikes: Street fests (“I thought I liked them, but it turns out I just like the idea of them”), people who take up two seats on the train, not putting things back in their appropriate place after using them, loud talkers at movies.
If he could travel anywhere in the world: “Last year, my wife and I traveled to Tanzania on a safari, which was on my bucket list. Every four years, I say I want to go to the World Cup, but it hasn’t happened yet.” (We’ll check back with ya in four years, Nate!)
What is your favorite part about working at Signal? “There are a lot of smart and capable people here, and I believe in what we’re building and want to see it grow.”
