Identity connects us, so Signal uses its ongoing Signalite Social Spotlight to feature our incredible employees for who they really are. The more you learn about them, the more you’ll begin to recognize what makes our favorite individuals unique. Can you identify?
Mike McCarthy, Marketing Automation Manager. Hubspot guru extraordinaire. Chicago sports aficionado. Drinks sugar-free Red Bull every morning (it gives him wings) and eats fruit snacks in the afternoon.
Age: 29. Hometown: Arlington Heights, IL. Mike’s goal for this year: “I want to continue taking lessons to get my private pilot’s license. I have a few hours under my belt.”
Likes: Playing baseball with his son, grilling (specialty: surf and turf), playing board games like Monopoly, rewatching ‘The Office,’ watching sports, spending summertime in the pool, anything outdoors.
Dislikes: When people don’t wipe down their equipment at the gym, bad manners (most notably chomping and talking with your mouth full), folding and putting away clothes, failing to pay attention because of texting and walking (“I’m sure I’m guilty of this, but still!”).
Would you rather your shirts be always two sizes too big or one size too small?
“As a kid, my mom always bought clothes that were too big, to prepare for an unexpected growth spurt. I think now I would take a much more aerodynamic approach and choose one size too small, even if it’s the unpopular opinion.”
His favorite part about his job at Signal: “I love it because there is no set day. Each day there is a new project or campaign we’re working on as a team. I love being able to use my creativity along with my analytical skills to solve a unique problem.”
