Prior to joining Signal, Mike was part of the original Orbitz management team and held the positions of CMO and COO. While at Orbitz, Mike helped take the business from start-up to IPO, then through two acquisitions (Cendant and Blackstone). After Orbitz, Mike joined The Pritzker Group as a partner on their private equity team. Mike also has held management roles at General Motors Corporation and Leo Burnett. His work at General Motors led him to be named a “Marketer of the Next Generation” by Brandweek magazine. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University and a Masters in Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management. Mike sits on the Signal board and the board of Angie’s List (ticker ANGI). Other current and prior board experience includes YouBet.com (ticker UBET) sold to Churchill Downs and local Chicago start-ups SIM Partners and ParkWhiz. At Signal, Mike has been recognized with several honors, including the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. He has also been named to the Crain’s Tech 50 list of top technology leaders in Chicago and the Techweek 100 list of the most influential technology leaders in Chicago.

As the founder of Signal, Marc Kiven brings a wealth of digital marketing domain expertise from senior executive roles at aQuantive (Avenue A | Razorfish and Atlas), Right Media and Centro. Marc served as COO and EVP of Global Expansion at Centro and helped take the company from small startup to dominant player in the local digital display market by building the largest platform for advertisers and agencies seeking local reach in quality publishing and contextual environments. At Right Media, Marc played a visible and active role building the company into the fastest growing media network in the world. Yahoo! acquired Right Media in 2007. Prior to his work at Right Media, Marc was one of the founding members of aQuantive’s Atlas division where he established the Atlas Digital MarketingTechnology as the leading ad server built specifically to address the needs of marketers and ad agencies. Marc began his digital marketing career as senior director of major account sales at Avenue A. Microsoft acquired Avenue A as part of the of aQuantive acquisition in 2007. Marc has a B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University. He serves as a director on the Signal board, is an active participant in the IAB and also a frequent speaker at digital marketing events including OMMA, DMA and TechWeek. At Signal, Marc has been recognized with several honors, including the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. Prior to joining Signal, Eric was co-founder and CTO of FeedBurner, which Google acquired in 2007. After the acquisition, Eric remained at Google in a senior technology role. Prior to FeedBurner, Eric co-founded and served as CTO at Spyonit.com (acquired by 724 Solutions), served as lead technical architect at Digital Knowledge Assets (creators of the collaborative personal publishing software “sceneServer”), and helped to lead the application architecture team in Accenture’s next generation technology group known as “Project Eagle.” Eric graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Applied Computational Mathematics. Eric was recognized as one of Crain’s Tech 25 for his contributions to drive technology growth in Chicago. He is also a council member of ChicagoNEXT, a dedicated effort by World Business Chicago and the Mayor’s office to drive growth and opportunity in the local technology community. At Signal, Eric has been recognized with several honors, including the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. He was also named Technologist of the Year by the Illinois Technology Association, and included on the Crain’s Tech 50 list of top technology leaders in Chicago and the Techweek 100 list of the most influential technology leaders in Chicago.

Kelly leads Signal’s Client Services team to meet the needs of its clients, and has shaped its reputation for exceptional client support. Prior to Signal, Kelly served as Director of Product Management at Vibes Media, where she oversaw planning and execution of Vibes mobile marketing products and software platform, from the setting of customer requirements, to defining the product vision, to ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction goals were met. Kelly was a co-founder and first employee at Centro, serving as the company’s Vice President, Client Services and Operations, and later as its Vice President, Product Management. Over a five-year period, she played a foundational role in successfully leading and growing the business from the ground up to nearly $100 million in annualized revenue, with 125 employees across 11 offices. She received an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University.

Joe Doran - Chief Identity Strategist

Joe Doran, who leads development of the Signal Identity Matching Network, is dedicated to creating technology solutions that make digital marketing more addressable, scalable and efficient. Joe’s focus is on resolving customer identity across offline and online sources for the publisher and adtech ecosystem. A seasoned executive with 20 years of experience at companies including General Mills, Microsoft, Media6Degrees (now Dstillery) and Rallyverse, Joe brings to Signal significant experience across a range of sectors including marketing technology/SaaS, display/search advertising, consumer internet services and consumer packaged goods. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Chemistry from the United States Military Academy (West Point).

Neil leads Signal’s global sales and business development efforts. Based in Chicago, Joyce has 15 years of experience spanning the digital marketing ecosystem in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. Neil has held key management positions at IBM and Acxiom and joined Signal from BrightEdge, where he led a business expansion across APAC. He studied at the University of Kent.Neil leads Signal’s global sales and business development efforts. Based in Chicago, Joyce has 15 years of experience spanning the digital marketing ecosystem in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. Kathy Menis is an expert in technology marketing, with 20 years of experience creating and leading strategic, results-driven marketing programs. At Signal, Ms. Menis oversees all marketing initiatives, including the company’s brand, product marketing, and go-to-market strategy. Ms. Menis joins Signal from Experian Marketing Services, a leader in data-driven marketing. In her role as Director of Product Marketing, Ms. Menis supported Experian’s Targeting division, which delivers comprehensive data, linkage and audience activation services to help brand advertisers optimize their omnichannel marketing. Over her career Ms. Menis has built several marketing functions from the ground-up, including the marketing program at Chicago start-up INOC, now the leading outsourced network operating center (NOC) monitoring company in the U.S. She also launched and led the Retail Channel Management group at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. working with leading retailers such as Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s and several national department store chains. She has an M.B.A. in Marketing from Roosevelt University and a B.A. in Communications from DePaul University.

Todd Schoenherr is SVP of Product at Signal. Prior to Signal he was a VP at Guild Capital, a boutique venture capital firm focused on growth media and technology companies. While there, he evaluated investments and served in a number of leadership positions at portfolio companies. He also has led various product and marketing teams at Orbitz Worldwide and consulted for Fortune 500 clients at Accenture. Todd received a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Blane defines the strategy and roadmap for Signal’s award-winning technology platform. Blane is Signal’s product visionary, leading the design of its breakthrough real-time, cross-channel platform. Prior to Signal, Blane led the Private Label and affiliate marketing product teams at Orbitz. Blane helped shape the early years of dynamic web content delivery as a product manager at Vignette. He also has spent time working with early-stage companies in the enterprise search and IT systems management spaces. Blane is a frequent speaker on the topics of behavioral data collection, cookie controls and best practices with regard to the intersection of online privacy and technology.

Giuliana Summer - Senior Vice President, Finance

Giuliana has over 20 years of experience in setting up and growing financial operations, including transactional experience in early-stage companies. Prior to Signal, she worked at FeedBurner, where she managed accounting and finance, and was instrumental in developing and implementing the sales, revenue and accounting operating system to effectively manage over 200 advertisers and 1,500 publishers in FeedBurner’s ad network. Giuliana was also a key member of the deal team closing the sale of FeedBurner to Google and joined Google to integrate FeedBurner’s operations and revenue management platform into Google’s financial operations platform. Giuliana began her career at Ernst & Young, working extensively in the entrepreneurial services and transaction advisory practice for 10 years. Franco contributes to Signal’s strategic initiatives and corporate development efforts, working closely with all members of Signal’s leadership team to advance the company’s strategic agenda, and leveraging more than 20 years of experience in tracking and contributing to the growth and success of technology services companies. Franco joins Signal from Textura Corporation, a software-as-a-service solution provider to the construction industry, where is served as their Head of Corporate Development. While at Textura, the business grew more than tenfold and Franco played a central role in taking the company public on the NYSE. Franco’s responsibilities included operational oversight for new products he brought to market, product strategy, pricing strategy, international market entry, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets initiatives. Prior to Textura, Franco was a Principal at Investment Bank William Blair helping oversee their SaaS practice. Franco graduated from Imperial College, London with an M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering and received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Tomo Yamazaki - Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Japan and East Asia

Tomo leads Signal’s strategy, sales and business development efforts in Japan and East Asia. Based in Tokyo, he works closely with Yahoo! JAPAN, the digital market leader in Japan, bringing Signal’s real-time, cross-channel marketing technology to Japanese agencies and clients. Prior to Signal, Tomo served as Japan Country Manager at the NYSE- listed Chinese company, Renren, where he developed business partnerships and built and operated social network services and social gaming services in Japan. Previously, he led digital marketing businesses at Overture Japan and Yahoo! JAPAN, where he was responsible for enhancing paid listing and interest-matching ad products, and optimizing monetization for publishers. He began his career as a software engineer for digital consumer electronics products at Sony, designing innovative products such as PalmOS-based PDA “CLIE.” Tomo holds an M.B.A. from Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and a M.S.E. in Mechano-Informatics from University of Tokyo.
