CHICAGO – February 25, 2013 – BrightTag (www.brighttag.com), a technology platform provider for the digital marketing industry, today announced that Todd Chu, Senior Vice President of Partner Development, was honored for his service to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). The IAB selects only a handful of individuals each year for excelling as leaders while completing a significant initiative to foster interactive advertising growth.
Chu received the Service Excellence award for recognition of his dedication and leadership to the development of the Site Tagging Best Practices, the industry’s first educational and procedural reference addressing common challenges for site tag and data management faced by advertisers and publishers. Developed by the IAB’s Data Council, through its Site Tagging Best Practices Task Force, the best practices offer recommendations for site tagging to ensure security in page performance, data control and privacy compliance. Chu served as co-chair of the committee.
“We are honored that Todd’s contributions have been recognized by the IAB. The topic of site tagging is not only an industry-wide issue affecting the flow of media spend between buyers and sellers, but also an organization-wide issue affecting vastly different stakeholders within a company, “ said Marc Kiven, Founder of BrightTag. “We want to thank the IAB for having the foresight to recognize that this subject is a standalone topic that deserves careful discussion. We look forward to Todd continuing to help update these best practices as tagging and data are a dynamic and evolving issue.”
Todd’s contributions to the online advertising industry date back to his early careers at both Doubleclick and Atlas where he helped shape the foundation of the third-party ad serving industry. Todd has been with BrightTag since the company’s inception in 2009 when he joined Marc Kiven to re-build the data foundation of the interactive advertising industry. Todd is currently living in Tokyo where he leads efforts to integrate BrightTag’s newest strategic partner, Yahoo! JAPAN.
The IAB Service Excellence Awards were presented at the IAB Annual Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, AZ on February 24, 2013. Additional members of IAB’s Site Tagging sub-committee include AMC Networks, BlueKai, BrightTag, Catchpoint, Evidon, Google & YouTube, Krux Digital, Microsoft-Atlas Advertiser, Mirror Image Internet, TagMan and Yahoo!.
